FOUNDERS OF PHILADELPHIA SPORTS EXHIBIT UNVEILED AT PHILLY CITY HALL
They may be some of the most famous Philadelphia sports
figures you’ve maybe never heard of....But they revolutionized the
future of sports in America.
Each mosaic depicts well-known Philadelphia icons like Connie Mack, Bert Bell, Ed Snider, and Billie Jean King, alongside lesser-known pioneers including Effa Manley, Ed Boulden, and Eddie Gottlieb.

Museum of Sports Executive Director Brett Mandel (pictured left) coordinated the exhibit, along with Creative Philadelphia, which was made possible with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Flyers greats Jim Watson, Joe Watson, Gary Dornhoefer, legendary Flyers announcer Lou Nolan, and Flyers founding Vice President and Museum of Sports creator Lou Scheinfeld shared memories from one of the most iconic moments in Philadelphia sports history.
